Things of beauty have always been a passion in my life. I travelled through Europe as a teen and marvelled at the craftsmanship of the old world stone masons, carvers and painters. Their craftsmanship inspired me to someday become a craftsman in my own rite. I have always enjoyed woodworking so I took the next step and started carving faces into walking sticks.
A few years after I started wood carving I was introduced to the amazing world of goldsmithing by someone who has now become a dear friend and mentor. I was hooked after the first project. I threw all my passion into learning to be a craftsman of jewellery. Along the way I discovered a passion for coloured gemstones and all things that sparkle.

I have been surrounded by gardens and gardeners all my life so given the chance I like to work with organic shapes. At the same time I like to work with geometric patterns. Some of my designs, like the dragonfly ring in the left margin, combine both themes. I find the most inspiration from the designs of the Art Nouveau period; roughly from 1880 to 1920. The designs incorporate natural themes with strong geometric tendencies. They are very colourful and often quite whimsical. They capture my imagination...
